Piuma (py-ooma) is a progressive funk-rock artist from Los Angeles, California inspired by the sound of Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, and Bob Marley and the Wailers. This self-titled concept album traces the formation of a seeker of truth setting out to open Pandora’s Box—and what he resolves after seeing reality. The album was written and performed by David Small (lead vocals/guitar) as a one man studio band, who crafted a unique vintage sound using gear modeled from the actual hardware units used to record Dark Side of the Moon, Led Zeppelin III and IV, and mix Bob Marley's Catch a Fire, and Burnin'.

This uplifting and heartfelt California rock album is deep. It's one of those records that you lay back and listen to with your eyes closed, letting it wash over you, since all the songs are connected from beginning to end.

    An Environmentally Friendly Vinyl Record

The album was recorded and produced with 100% renewable energy, manufactured using recycled and renewable materials wherever possible, and trees were planted offsetting carbon from the manufacturing process. $5 from each album sale goes towards planting trees, through The Arbor Day Foundation, making this a carbon-positive album. Piuma says that the environmentally responsible efforts align with the concept of the album.

about

Uplifting Cali Rock

Late sixties/early seventies progressive, funk, and psychedelic rock

Piuma (py-ooma) is a progressive rock artist from Los Angeles, California releasing his first EP on November 12, 2015. This eco-vinyl concept album is inspired by bands like Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, and Bob Marley and the Wailers, and was created using special environmentally friendly techniques. It traces the formation of a seeker of truth who opens Pandora’s Box—and what he resolves after seeing reality. The album was crafted after albums coming out of Abbey Road and Olympic Studios in the late sixties and early seventies, creating a vintage-modern sound. This uplifting and heartfelt California rock album is deep. It's one of those records that you lay back and listen to with your eyes closed, letting it wash over you, since all the songs are connected from beginning to end.

Piuma was recorded with 100% renewable energy and $5.00 from each vinyl album sale ($1 from each digital/CD) is donated to The Arbor Day Foundation, to plant trees, making this a carbon-positive release. The five trees planted will offset 6 tons (over 13,000 lbs) of carbon, which covers more than the average US household power consumption over the course of a year.
